Upcoming Trip

Goechala Trek


Day 1:Gangtok-Yuksom, drive, 138kms, 7 hours.



Yuksom: altitude: 1,740meters. A drive on an unfrequented traffic through a meandering Himalayan road, terraced farm land, deep forest, cardamom field, streams and rivulets, hanging bridge. Arrive Yuksom, valley surrounded by hills covered with dense forest.


Day 2:


Yuksom trek Bakhim , 12kms and 6 hours.



Bakhim altitude: 2,743meters. Altitude gain: 1003 meters.Trek through an undulating trail later reach Perekchu Bridg, there after a steep climb of 1 hour runs through the Rhododendron trees, arrive Bakhim with a forest cover of Oak, Birch, Magnolia and Bamboo. Bakhim attract plenty of birds such as magpie, robins, honey sucker, fly-catchers, sunbirds etc.


Day 3:


Trek Bakhim-Tshoka 2kms. 1 hour, Bakhim altitude: 2,743meters.Tshokha: 3048meters. Altitude gains:305 meters. (acclimatization zone) Tahoka is a small village that provides a view of Mount Pandim and other smaller peaks. Tshokha to Phedang trail is full of moss laden Rhodendron trees which provides shelter to the birds such as Satyr Tragopan, Rose Finch, Blood Pheasant and Himalayan Black Bear, Red panda. Trail further moves up with Silver fur trees later vanishes substituting Rhodoendron bushes.


Day 4:
Tshoka trek Dzongri, 9kms. 5 hours. Dzongri: 4030meters. Altitude gain: 982 meters.


Now one gets into the thick Rhodondron forest later a steep climb up to Deorali Dara rewards with utmost beauty of Mountain peaks such as Mt. Kanchendzong, Mount Pandim, Rathong Peak, Mount Kabru, Goecha Peak, Jopuno, Thingchenkhang, Black Kabur, Simvo, Narsing etc. Another 10minutes walk takes to Dzongri camp.


Day 5:


Dzongri excursion to Dzongrila situated at 4,500meters.Dzongrila provides a scintillating view of Rathong Glacier, Kabru Dome, Freys Peak, Talung.


Day 6:


Trek Dzongri-Thangsing, 6kms, and 4 hours, Thangsing: 3,639meters. Altitude Gain: Minus183meters.Trail begins with dune type of climb There after descends through dense Rhododendron bushes, arrive Perek River later little climb through Silver fur forest reach Thangsing. Thangsing is a valley. It provides a good view of mountain peaks..


Day 7:
Trek: Thangsing-Samiti Lake, camp at Lamune., 6 km, 3 hours,SamitiLake: 4,453meters. Altitude Gain: 462meters.


Early in the morning Thangsing Deorali Dara, provides a beautiful view of Mt. Kanchendzonga.


Day 8:


Trek Lamune-Goechala-Samiti-Thangsing. Total walking distance: 13kms, 7 hours. Goechala: 4,940meters. Early in the morning we depart for Goechala through barren land, moraines and nearby parallel to the trail on the left side, Talung Glacier. Near Goechala the sound of icefall gives an extraordinary thrill. Before swirling cloud cover the area we descend to Samiti Lake and further trek back to Thangsing.


Day 9:


Thangsing trek back to Tshokha.


Day 10:


Tshokha trek back to Yuksom.


Cost per person:
13000/- per pax


Standard hotel.


Cost Includes: Food, Hotel in Yuksom, Trekkers’ hut/camp during the trek, guide, cook, porters, yaks, wild life sanctuary entry fee, tourism registration fee, permit, transfer where applicable, trekking equipments such as sleeping tent, toilet tent, kitchen tent, table, chairs etc.


Cost does not include: items of personal nature, medicines, medical treatments, tips, laundry,telephone calls, alcoholic beverages, insurance including that of toilet paper etc.

Just posting a brief discription of places for all of you to help in your decision. Iteniaries posed are extra streached such as Delhi to base point and back will be at night shortening the trip by 2days.All the trips would take atleast 7-8 days, so guys start counting your leaves.

1.Roop Kund

Roopkund is a mysterious lake at the altitude of (4450m) in the interior of Chamoli district. The lake is rather shallow having a depth of about 2 meters with the edge covered with snow for most part of the year. When the snow melts, human’s unique skeleton remains can be seen, some of them with flesh attached. These remains have been preserved in the alpine conditions for centuries. It is believed that these are the remains of about 300 people who died about 500-600 years ago.

Some believe that they are the General Zorawar’s Soldiers who died here in a vain attempt to conquer Tibet. There are many stories about these findings but none are satisfying.

2.Panchachuli Glacier East Face


Situated at the eastern border of Kumaon in Pithoragarh District, Uttarakhand. The routes to the Glacier abounds in exotic scenery, snow capped mountains, gushing streams, alpine meadows and a rich variety of flaura & fauna. From Glacier one can see the Panchchuli peaks in their towering glory. Panchchuli that derives its name from the five peaks, named after the legendry Pandavas.

3. Kedar Tal



A ten days trip which involves drive to Gangotri , the ancient source of the holy river Ganga and trek to the finest high altitude Himalayan lake, Kedar tal (4912 mts) punctuated with breath stopping close view of Greater Himalayan peaks e.g. Thaleysagar (6904 mts), Brigupanth (6772 mts) and Jogin Group of peaks. The emerald lake with melting snow of Kedar glacier originates kedarganga, a tributary of Bhagirathi, considered as lord Shiva,’s contribution to Bhagirathi. One can encounter a good variety of high altitude fauna e.g. Bharal (blue sheep), Goral, Himalayan black bear with a great variety of birds. The trek is bit strenuous, but the rewards are very high.

Wonders of World - Magnetic Hill at Leh - Ladakh, India


This is one of the wonders of the world. There is a magnetic hill in Leh - Ladakh. It is one of the wonders of Himalayan Mountain.

To experience the magnetic power you have to place your vehicle on a specific spot (Local authority has put up a bill-board to identify the place) and switch off the vehicle. Soon you will notice the vehicle will climb the hill at a speed of around 20 km/hr. Many tourists from around the world come here to experience the Himalayan wonder. It is informed by the local people and ITBP (Indo Tibetan Boarder Police) personal that this magnetic power can be experienced while flying above the magnetic Hill. If the Helicopters and Aircrafts flying above the magnetic hill comes with in the radius of magnetic hill, it will started to jerk. It is advised to fly at a specific speed and hight above the Magnetic Hill to avoid accidents. The Indian Air force pilots are aware of this phenomenon and usually avoid this area. It is situated at an altitude of 14,000 feet. (above sea level). The magnetic hill is situated at a distance of 30km from the Leh town. You need to take the Leh - Kargil Baltic National Highway to reach the Magnetic Hill
